Vanguard Engine Company currently has 38 members on it's roster. Two members of the company are currently Assistant Chiefs, one member is currently a Commissioner, and seven members are Ex-Chiefs.
All members of the West Islip Fire Department have their own set of Bunker gear. The Dept. is currently upgrading the gear and helmets we use to keep up with OSHA standards. Some members like Brian, have their own jumpsuits to use in the summer time over their shorts or in the winter time on a cold night.
